I believe we should recruit more teams for the next season. I know it would not be that hard to get more good people to join. I was thinking we could double and go to 24 which would make the league much more balanced. Comments Questions???

I'm thinking more like 16.
24 will be too hard to make sure everyone plays.

hey I'm good with going up to the max, which would be 28. I also have a suggestion for drafting - how about following the model of HSTL (and probably many other leagues)? Offensive players are drafted individually, except OL is drafted as a unit. Defensive players are drafted in smaller groups than we used: DL, OLBs, ILBs, CBs, Safeties.

agreed, except a rook league with 28? doubtful it'll work

I agree with Carmel I think at most 20 would be pushing it. Lets get a core group setup and god knows if I can host it'd make it easier:)
But anyway 16-20 I'd say for season 2 then grow from there.
I mean if 12 play and finish then 16 play and finish continue to grow like that until we become established.

I think 20 would probably be a good number for next year. Eventually this could be expanded to the max of 28.
The one thing to keep in mind is that before long, this won't be a "rook league" anymore, if our core group of dedicated guys stay on. I think there are already several guys who are well better than the average nOOb. In fact, every guy I've played so far in league play has a good degree of Tecmo skill.
I DEFINITELY think we do need more than the present 12 teams however, since the teams are simply too good as things stand. Expanding to 20 would place a greater emphasis on good drafting and would more than likely ensure that every team would have at least one exploitable weakness. As it stands now, all the teams more or less seem like the original ROM 49ers.
I also completely agree with telepathin's drafting suggestion.

I honestly dont think we should push it too much. this leauge has been good so far.
I'd say 16 next year, if that works, 20.
16 will surprisingly even out the teams much better.
I would also like the drafting to be single player on Offense, and defense by small groups.
I have a way to get all of the tecmo players into a database and have an online draft if need be.

I agree with telepathin's draft suggestion. Also, I think a good number of teams will be 15-20 or so. 28 would be kind of complicated as most people won't get their games in on time and most can't host.

I know that but most n00bs can't host and this league is meant for n00bs.

I think from now on we should get mid range guys.. not total noobs. guys like sstruck, tecmothumb.
Not so much the guys that are getting dominated.

n00bs is not defined as low skill. just new players to tecmo online.

i think we should keep the old format on drafting off and def. It is a nice way to do it, goes fast and leaves good room for trading.

i think we should keep the old format on drafting off and def. It is a nice way to do it, goes fast and leaves good room for trading. I think there are too many stacked picks on offense, though: RAMS WRs, HOU WRs, SF WRs, RAI RBs, DET RBs, CHI RBs. You get two good players for the price of one. If we broke it down more, you would only be able to get one great WR or one great RB instead of two. I think it would make the teams more balanced. PLus by breaking up great sets, more people would have access to good players - a team's backups would be one pick under this system, so guys like Mel Gray and Johnny Bailey would matter.
